24 Weeks

Weight Gain: +18 which is actually less than I had gained at this point last time (granted, I had a little extra to start with this time)
Maternity Clothes: Yep
Sleep: Can't get enough.
Stretch Marks: Not yet...
Highlight of the Week: Let's see...we went on a date to see Trans Siberian Orchestra for Jason's birthday, Sawyer got to sit on Santa's lap for the first time, and the holiday spirit is in full swing at our house! I love the holidays even more now that I have my own little (and growing!) family :)
Missing: Mobility, energy
Movement: Still lots! You can see him moving from the outside now.
Cravings: Same old, same old
Symptoms: Heartburn
Showing: Yes
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button: It's safe to say I have an outie now.
Wedding Rings: On
Most Looking Forward To: Christmas!
Milestones: It's kind of weird, but I'm happy to have reached 24 weeks because he has a better than 50% chance of surviving if he were born right now. But I hope he stays in at least 16 more weeks!

December 08, 2014

Weight Gain: +16 (Yikes! Too much turkey!)
Maternity Clothes: Yep
Sleep: Not too bad. I usually wake up once to pee, but other than that it's pretty good.
Stretch Marks: Not yet...
Highlight of the Week: We had a great Thanksgiving and Sawyer started walking! We also went Black Friday shopping and got a lot of clothes for both boys at a great deal, which was awesome!
Missing: Being able to bend over comfortably. I feel like I am constantly picking up Sawyer's toys, crumbs, sippy cup, etc. off the floor and it is getting tough.
Movement: Tons! Jason was able to feel it for the first time about a week ago! Have I mentioned that I love feeling him move? ;)
Cravings: Milk! Just like last time...
Symptoms: Feeling like a stuffed sausage already and starting to get uncomfortable. Heartburn has begun too.
Showing: Yes

November 23, 2014

Highlight of the Week: Jason and I went to see Mockingjay last night. It was the first time Sawyer spent the night at Gigi and Papaw's house, so we had an impromptu date. The baby was wiggling all throughout the movie!
Missing: Nothing really
Movement: He's definitely moving now! I love it! It is one of the best parts of being pregnant :)
Cravings: Nothing in particular this week. I always crave sweets, but that's nothing new.
Symptoms: None at the moment
Showing: Yes
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button: In, although it is pretty weird looking.
Wedding Rings: On
Most Looking Forward To: Thanksgiving and all the delicious food!
Milestones: Halfway there!

Happy 1st Birthday, Sawyer!

Today is Sawyer's birthday! (Well, it was his birthday when I wrote this anyway...) He is ONE! The saying that the days are long, but the years are short has never felt as true as it does today. I vividly remember struggling through those first few weeks one day at a time, yet somehow an entire year has gone by. Instead of a little newborn baby I am now the mama to a smart, silly, lovable little boy.

He loves Mickey Mouse, so that will be the theme of his party on Saturday. He can't walk on his own yet, but he has taken a few tentative steps! He loves to push his walking toys and can steer them well enough to practically run all over the house. He even goes backwards occasionally! As far as talking goes, he can say lots of sounds, but I don't think any of it counts yet as being his first word. Considering all of the babbling he does, I'm beginning to wonder if he actually is talking to us, but thinks that WE are the ones who babble!

Here's what my little dude has been up to this month:
  • 1st cold
  • 1st hair cut
  • can play patty cake
  • 1st Halloween (he was a pirate!)
  • loves orange juice
  • likes to dance
  • can clap
  • can shake and nod his head
  • can show how old he is by holding up one finger :)
  • will eat anything
  • still takes 2 naps per day (morning and afternoon)
  • sleeps from about 8:30pm til 7:30am
  • took his first few steps on October 30
  • loves to play with hair, his own or anyone else's he can get his hands on
  • loves balloons
  • can use a fork to put food in his mouth if the food is on the fork already
  • weighs 20 pounds 13 ounces
  • is 28 inches tall
  • 1st birthday party!
  • loves to push around his walking toys
  • loves bath time
  • had his birthday dinner at his favorite restaurant, Cracker Barrel

I love Sawyer with a love fiercer than anything I have ever experienced and that will never, ever fade, not even a little bit...and I hope he will always remember that, even when he has grown up into the wonderful man I know he will become. Sawyer, if you are reading this in your baby book, call your mom and remind her that you still love her no matter how old you are!

And now, the onslaught of pictures :)

Movement: I felt him kick for the 1st time on November 5!

October 27, 2014

16 Weeks

Weight Gain: +4

Stretch Marks: None
Highlight of the Week: Black Cat Chase and finding out the baby's gender
Missing: Energy
Movement: I don't feel much, but a few times I have definitely felt the baby! I can't wait til it is more consistent. I absolutely love feeling my baby move!
Cravings: Mexican food, McDonald's breakfast, Subway
Symptoms: Not many any more besides a few headaches here and there and still being tired a lot
Showing: Yep, and I'm looking forward to having a bigger bump!
Gender: We know, but it's still a secret until Jason tells the folks at his office
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button: In, although it is struggling already. I have a weird bellybutton to begin with and Sawyer didn't help matters any!

11 Months

Sawyer is 11 months old! Just one more short month to go until he turns the big O-N-E! I can't believe that we are in the home stretch of his babyhood. I absolutely love watching him grow up, but there is a part of me that is going to be sad when my baby boy officially becomes a toddler. That being said, preparations are in full swing for his birthday party and I'm so excited for him! He is such a ham so I anticipate him basking in all the attention!
He is such a funny little guy and is a complete joy to be around. He's rarely ever upset and is a fantastic sleeper and eater. He loves standing up and pushing his toys around so I think walking is just around the corner!
  • can wave on command
  • went to his 1st family reunion in Owensboro
  • still loves to play in the curtains
  • 1st overnight trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for Mommy and Daddy's 2nd anniversary
  • favorite restaurant is Cracker Barrel
  • 1st parade (Georgetown's Festival of the Horse)
  • snuggly when he wakes up and will often give hugs
  • gives high fives
  • can shake his head "no"
  • has 2 teeth (bottom middle)
  • likes to rub people's hair when they are holding him
  • rubs his head/ plays with his hair when he is sleepy or nursing
  • can drink from a straw
  • is going to be a BIG BROTHER!

October 12, 2014

14 Weeks

Weight Gain: None, yet somehow I still feel a lot less cute this time around and more whale-ish. Oh well, it's all for the cause!
Maternity Clothes: Pants, yes. Still trying to make my non-maternity shirts work as long as possible though.
Sleep: I got a Snoogle and it has changed my life! So much more comfortable than a bunch of flat pillows!
Stretch Marks: None
Highlight of the Week: Finally announcing!
Missing: Energy
Movement: I think I've felt a few flutters and flips! It's one of the best feelings in the world :)
Cravings: Nothing in particular, but I was craving McDonald's breakfast this morning. My wonderful husband took pity on me and we drove thru on the way to church :)
Symptoms: Tired, but can't seem to nap as well as I used to. I also got sick twice this past week. What the heck, 2nd trimester?!
Showing: Yep, and I'm looking forward to having a bigger bump!
Gender: Don't know
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button: In
Wedding Rings: On
Most Looking Forward To: Finding out the gender and celebrating Halloween!
Milestones: I am definitely in my 2nd trimester now!

Baby Hyatt #2 Is On The Way!

Jason and I are excited to announce that our family will be growing this spring! We have known for what seems like forever, so I am so glad the news is finally out. Now I can stop trying to hide my bump and start showing it off :) We knew we wanted our children close together and we are thrilled that they will only be 17 months apart!
Like last time, I will be doing these little surveys as well as taking bump photos to document my pregnancy. I'll be doing both on a bi-weekly basis and I started about a month ago at 10 weeks. Unfortunately, my 10 weeks photo accidently got deleted, so my bump pictures start at 12 weeks. I feel bad that I started much earlier with my first pregnancy, but I didn't really want to document my 4-8 week "baby" bump that was mostly just postpartum fluff!

10 Weeks

Weight Gain: None, unless you count the 12 pounds I never got around to losing after Sawyer was born.
Maternity Clothes: I’ve already started wearing my maternity jeans because it is actually easier to hide the bump in them than in my regular jeans!
Sleep: It’s going okay at night other than that I get really hot. I usually try to sleep during Sawyer’s naps too because I’m so exhausted.
Stretch Marks: None. A few showed up after Sawyer was born, but they seem to have gone away.
Highlight of the Week: Getting to see the baby at our ultrasound at 9 weeks 4 days! It had a strong heartbeat at 174 bpm and was wiggling around showing off for us! I’ve been through this whole pregnancy thing once already, but still it feels like a miracle to see a tiny human on that screen.
Missing: Energy
Movement: It’s moving in there, but I can’t feel it yet.
Symptoms: Mainly just fatigue. I’m not sure if it’s because I chase Sawyer around all day or if it really is worse this time around, but I am exhausted almost all the time. Thankfully, I haven’t been as sick with this one though. I have only gotten sick twice, although I usually start feeling yucky around 4pm every day.
Showing: Despite the fact that I haven’t gained any weight, I can definitely tell there’s a bump there. It’s more like a pooch than a bump, but I’ll take a pregnancy pooch over a postpartum pooch any day!
Gender: We don’t know, but I’ve had two dreams that it’s a girl.
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button: In
Wedding Rings: On
Most Looking Forward To: Making our announcement so I can stop trying to hide it and start flaunting it! I love being pregnant!
Milestones: According to one of my pregnancy apps, all of the baby’s vital organs have formed already and he or she is growing fingernails. Also, now that we have seen and heard the heartbeat, the risk of something going wrong is dramatically reduced to somewhere around 2 percent.

12 Weeks

Weight Gain: none
Maternity Clothes: yes and no; I wear them when I can, but since we haven’t announced yet I still try to squeeze into my regular clothes too
Sleep: I’ve been having wild dreams!
Stretch Marks: no
Highlight of the Week: going on our first trip as a family to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge to celebrate our 2nd anniversary
Missing: nothing really
Movement: sometimes I think I feel flutters, but it is so early it’s hard to tell
Cravings: my biggest craving this week was chicken fried rice from Thai Smile—it did not disappoint!
Symptoms: still tired and still feeling gross in the evenings. I also puked again this week and simultaneously peed in my pants, so that was a blast.
Showing: just a little
Gender: don’t know
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button: in
Wedding Rings: on
Most Looking Forward To: our next appointment so we can announce!
Milestones: depending on who you ask, 12 weeks is the end of the 1st trimester
Big Brother Sawyer doesn't really know what's going on, but he's excited nonetheless!
