Month Four

Four months have flown by and my tiny baby has grown into a chubby, curious little boy. He is so interested in the world around him that he doesn't want to miss a single thing!  I'm so proud of him for reaching new milestones and I want him to grow and learn, but I also find myself wanting time to slow down because he's growing up too fast. He's so much fun at this age and I cherish each moment because I know that time is going to continue to fly by as he gets older. I recently came across this quote that explains exactly what motherhood feels like for me: "making the decision to have a child - it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
Right now my heart can't even crawl yet, but it is most certainly outside of my body. Right now my heart is lounging in his swing, clutching his beloved ducky and desperately fighting a nap. :)

  • rolled over from belly to back on 2-20-14
  • moved up to size 3 diapers
  • very vocal! loves to jabber to himself in the mornings when he wakes up
  • stopped being swaddled to sleep at 14 weeks--I feared the transition, but it was a breeze!
  • weighs about 16 pounds
  • loves his stuffed ducky/blanket
  • enjoys going on walks in his stroller
  • great shopper
  • 1st Valentine's Day
  • teething
  • tries so hard to roll over from back to belly, but can't quite figure out how to get his arm out of the way
  • discovered his feet and likes to pull his socks off
  • spits up all over us at least once a day
  • sleeps in his crib from 9pm to 8am (give or take a half hour or so) but still wakes up at least once a night to eat
  • not a big napper at all, but prefers his swing over his crib for napping

This was definitely the hardest month so far to take pictures of him. He's getting squirmy!
